“It is not the possession of truth, but the pursuit of it, that enriches the mind. " St. Albert the Great

Our Patron, St. Alber the Great

St. Albert the Great (approx. 1193-1280) was a German Catholic Dominican Friar and Bishop. He is widely considered to be the greatest philosopher, theologian, and scientist of the Middles Ages, and was the teacher of St. Thomas Aquinas. The Catholic Church distinguishes St. Albert as one of the 36 Doctors of the Church, a title given by the Church to saints who have made a significant contribution to theology or doctrine through their research, study, or writing.
We are proud to call on St. Albert to guide us in our mission and in our student’s studies as we aim to live by our motto “Fides et Scientia - Faith and Knowledge”
St. Albert the Great, pray for us!

St. Albert the Great is recognized as an Independent Catholic School

The bishop of the Diocese of Rochester, The Most Reverend Salvatore Matano, recognizes each year our school and designates us the authority to brand ourselves as a Catholic school. Our mission, religious curriculum, high academic standards, and our fidelity to the Church led the path for us to this designation.

A vibrant prayer life at St. Albert the Great Academy

Each morning our teachers gather together to pray; to offer the day, offer petitions, and praise and glorify Jesus together. It is a sacred time for us as begin our day ushering in our students. Upon arrival each class prays together and the students offer their own petitions to strenghten our community. Throughout the day and at the end of the day students pray together and come to know Jesus very personally because their every day life of a student is woven together by moments with Him.

St. Albert’s and the Church are one in mission

We are very blessed to work closely with two parish communities and pastors who have graciously welcomed us into their school buildings and parish community. We celebrate the sacraments together under the guidance of these pastors and our students participate joyfully in holy mass each week. Reconciliation and adoration are available for our community as well. The liturgical calendar and feasts from these two parishes that are both rich with traditional culture enhance our students lives and helps them to bring the light of Christ into their homes and the world.

St. Albert’s takes an Oath of Fidelity

Each year every teacher, staff member, and board member pledges an Oath of Fidelity to revere and live by the Christian virtue and Catholic doctrine.
