Where are you located?

We are located in Auburn, NY - the heart of the Finger Lakes- in the Diocese of Rochester. Our main campus is at 134 Washington Street in what is formerly known as Sts. Peter and Paul School. We were pleased to reopen this school building after it closed in 2013. It houses grades PreK - 3 with Art, Music, and PE on site as well as our Learning Resource Center, school nurse, and playground. The facility has been upgraded to meet current code regulations, security features and technology for our use. Our second campus is located just around the corner on Pulaski Street in what is formerly known at St. Hyacinth’s School. This facility has also been upgraded to meet current code regulations, security features and technology use, and our classrooms have been refurbished with original woodwork, paint, and hardwood floors. It houses grades 4-6 with Art, Music, and PE on site. It has a full gymnasium and access to St. Hyacinth’s Church.

Do you offer financial assistance?

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to receive our quality of education. We do offer financial assistance on an as-needed basis. Families can go to our FACTS site to apply for financial assistance (link to our FACTS site coming soon!).

Do you offer before and after school care?

St. Albert’s offers before and after school care that is purposeful and intentional to support and reinforce the lessons learned throughout the school day, while also offering a fun and relaxed environment to play in. Before school care begins at 7:00 AM and after school care will continue until 5:30 PM.

Can I enroll my child if we are not Catholic?

We welcome families of all faiths and hope to inspire all of our students to grow in their knowledge of and love for God, which will enable them to love and serve those around them. Our learning community respects the dignity of every family in an environment that respects diversity and equality in the pursuit of truth. Our faith is shared as a community where everyone comes together in prayer, in classroom instruction and special activities such as Mass, feast day celebrations, and the celebration of Christmas and Easter.

Are your students required to wear uniforms?

Yes, our kindergarten through 6th grade students wear uniforms. Girls in grades K-3rd wear jumpers or pants and grades 4th-6th wear skirts or pants. Boys wear khaki pants with navy shirts or navy pants with white shirts. Used uniforms, in excellent condition, are available at St. Albert’s loan closet. We do not require a special uniform for physical education classes, but students will be required to wear sneakers.  Read our entire uniform policy below:

Is busing available for my child?

Yes, busing is available within a 15 mile radius from all surrounding school districts. Busing forms are available on the registration page.

Do you follow NYS curriculum guidelines?

St. Albert the Great students learn to write well, read well, and think well in a program that emphasizes classical learning and values moral formation as part of the learning process in all subject areas. Our academic program follows standards laid out by the NYS Department of Education and benchmarks of a Catholic Liberal Education which sets us apart in our Catholic identity and academic rigor.

Do you offer services to accommodate my child’s IEP or 504 plan?

Our students requiring differentiated learning receive services from well-trained staff in our school building. Staff from the Auburn Enlarged City School District and St. Albert the Great Academy staff provide these services in an environment that builds confidence and ability.

Are you affiliated with Tyburn Academy?

Although separate schools, St. Albert the Great Academy and Tyburn Academy share a unity of mission and purpose: to offer an excellent education, rooted in the Catholic faith. Each school has its own Board of Trustees, comprised of local community members who are able to make decisions in a precise and timely manner. St. Albert the Great Academy is a Pre-K through Grade 6 school, while Tyburn Academy is a Grade 7 through Grade 12 school.
